Work on one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world!  We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Groundsperson to join our team at Hamilton Island Golf Club.

Perfectly situated on Dent Island, nestled in the middle of a National Park you will get to experience a unique and exquisite working environment.  The 360 degree views of the out-laying islands and the sparking blue water of the Whitsunday passage make this truly one of the most beautiful offices in the world.

In this role, you will assist our Golf Course Superintendent with preparing and maintaining the golf course greens and garden areas.  Your role will be ensuring all golf course equipment is maintained and all tasks are completed to a high standard to ensure guest satisfaction. About the Role

  • Full time permanent position

  • Live on Hamilton Island and commute 7 minutes by ferry to the Golf Course

  • Apply fertilizers as directed by the supervisor, including maintaining a log of application

  • Assist with course irrigation as directed

  • Set tee markers and pins on greens daily for play

  • Maintain oil, fuel and fluid levels for all types of grounds-keeping machinery on a daily basis

  • Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge

About You

  • Previous experience in a similar role

  • Sound knowledge of machinery and equipment related to this industry

  • Open manual driver licence (Essential)

  • Qualifications in Turf Management (Essential)

  • Certificate I, II or III in Horticulture (Greenkeeping desirable)

  • Irrigation experience (Desirable)

  • Chemical handling certificate (Desirable)

  • A positive attitude and a passion for golf

  • Team Worker with good communication skills
