Global Property Company with APAC headquarters in Sydney.
 
Responsibilities  
The network has grown exponential in the last 2 years. The Network specialist will be responsible for the entire network (LAN/WAN, associated technologies & vendors) approach within the group, from day to day management and defining the future state, levering on the existing investments and deciding how they fit in. The network specialist will be assisted by 3rd party providers which will guarantee a 24 hour support in the different time zones the company operates.
  • Network Inventory WAN/LAN
    Manage the entire network inventory - hardware, software (IOS) and vendors. From performing a base lining exercise on the current WAN/LAN environment rolled out within the group to collecting and managing all network services agreements and related vendors and prepare the network schemes and documentation.
  • Network Monitoring
    Build and run a program to effectively manage and maintain the network environment.
  • Security Assessment
  • Understand security from a strategic, high level to a technical, granular level including experience in reviewing router configs and firewall rules
  • React and follow up to network issue reported by external SOC.
  • Network Strategy
    Determine the future state of the network.
  • Project Lead: Network Support
    Serve as the network project resource for all related projects such as the data centre consolidation project, WAN optimisation, Remote Access implementation and MPLS.
  • Supplier management
    Manage the vendors involved in the connectivity and network space.
  • VoIP strategy
    Design, build and manage a VOIP implementation. Document and inventory the current VoIP implementations within the group. Determine the future state off and integrated VoIP approach within the group.
  • 3rd line support
    As needed, provide 3rd line support to critical network related incidents and problems.
Your Profile 
For this role, you will:
  • Have a can-do mentality
  • Positive approach and openness for improvement
  • Understand the challenges of working through different time zones, within a global company
  • Previous Vendor (telecom) Management experience
  • Previous experience with network services contract negotiation SLA, Service Credits, Scope of Work definition ideally with MPLS
  • 3yrs+ network design, engineering
  • 5yrs+ network operations & management
  •  Cisco networking environment both hands on and design
  • Experience and knowledge of MPLS solutions
  • WAN optimisation technology
  • Data Centre Network Design
  • CCNA, CCNP
  • CCIE, CCVP
  • Project Management - Prince2, PMP
