Finance Manager

The Role:

Our client is a locally owned and operated Construction Company with 40 years` experience. They know the lay of the land for every suburb. Their designs make the most of Canberra’s seasons, because they’re developed in Canberra, for Canberra. They are a multi-disciplined organisation, specialising in building, civil and landscaping projects.

Our client is seeking a well-established Finance Manager who has ideally worked in a construction space. Reporting to the Managing Director, you as the Finance Manager will be responsible for completing the financial processes and reporting across many assets. You will oversee a strong team, complete financial requirements and support the business.
You must possess a forward thinking and driven passion towards finance where you can develop this business even further. You must have strong attention to detail, strong communication and strong capabilities to handle deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing the Company Financials
  • Tax Reporting
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Schedule payment runs including payroll
  • Capital Purchases
  • Approve General Expenses
  • Manage office accommodation (including Body Corporate, Utilities, Repairs, Maintenance expenses)
  • Liaise with External Accountants
  • Liaise with ACT Procurement
  • Liaise with External Auditors
  • Approve expenses for IT support and purchases
  • Manage the backup and security of company information
  • Insurances
  • Supervise Office Administrator and Finance Assistant
  • Manage BAS & PAYG payments
  • Direct Superannuation payments, long service leave records
  • Use Microsoft Office suite especially excel
  • MYOB and Xero

Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Relevant Degree and professional Accounting qualifications
  • At least 10+ years` work experience
  • Ideally Construction Experience
  • Job Analysis
  • Effective communicator, both verbal and written
  • Management and administration of all the company finance functions
