Our national meat industry partner has an opportunity for a Senior Domestic Meat Trader to join their experienced domestic sales team ion their Melbourne office. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a company that will reward you for your wealth of industry knowledge and experience.

The Role:

  • Initial development through to ongoing management of accounts;
  • Manage chilled and frozen carton meat sales in your portfolio of clients - Retail Butcher shops, Wholesalers and Supermarkets;
  • Undertake daily customer calls and processing of orders;
  • Identify incremental sales opportunities from existing customer base and source new business opportunities to grow your business;
  • Achieve sales and margin targets on a consistent basis within parameters;
  • Manage all accounts in a seamless manner from order to delivery;
  • Manage the compliance of all contractual obligations;
  • Work with the procurement team to ensure on time delivery of products;
  • Manage the various expectations of the client and oversee the management of the key accounts.

The Candidate:

  • Meat sales experience is essential. As is a thorough knowledge of all meat products across all species but with a beef focus;
  • Must have thorough understanding of all meat products, grades and cuts;
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills;
  • Competent in Microsoft Office computer applications;
  • Ability to work without supervision, set and meet deadlines and manage sales budgets;
  • Proven capability of building strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders;
  • Be able to think outside the box to offer unique business solutions;
  • Have an understanding of supply chain and its impact on customers;
  • Strong background in forecasting and proven track record of delivering on said forecasts.
