Consultant - Urology
You will be responsible for managing the care of all urology patients allocated to you in collaboration with the responsible Medical Officers, Registrars, fellow Consultants, Nurses and Allied Health professionals. As part of your role, you will also undertake a commitment to continuous quality improvement activities including regular Surgical Audit. This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic and continually evolving Urology Department whilst delivering high quality urological care. An interest in female urology and female pelvic medicine to complement and strengthen the department will be ideal. The Lyell McEwin Hospital (LMH) is a 336-bed specialist referral public teaching hospital in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, providing services in the areas of General Medicine, Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Psychiatry. We provide a full range of high-quality medical, surgical, diagnostic, emergency and support services to a population of more than 350,000 people living primarily in Adelaide’s northern suburbs, and are affiliated with the University of Adelaide, University of South Australia and Flinders University.
Holding a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, you will have FRACS and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration. Along with your specialised training in Urology surgery, you will demonstrate significant experience in the field of Urology surgery. Having worked before within a large teaching hospital, you will possess the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment, in particular to relate well to other medical practitioners, health professionals, patients and the public.
