The Role:

Thanks to the recent contract with the Department of Corrective Services, we currently have opportunities to join our team in Western Australia in Kalgoorlie.

If the answer to these questions is yes – then we are looking for you to join our team of Care & Custody Officers.

In this role you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for the transfer of persons in custody from police lock-ups, prisons to courts and other movement services. You will provide custodial care at all times in a caring manner whilst adhering to prescribed operating procedures.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Escorting Persons in Custody and people from custody throughout Western Australia, between prisons, police stations and courts as well as all external visits, including the management of Persons in Custody whilst in hospital.

  • Operating from numerous court and custody sites across Western Australia.

  • Driving one of our purpose-built secure vehicles.

  • high safety and security focus

  • and maintain a reasonable level of fitness to undertake the job

  • or be able to obtain Certificate III in Corrective Services

  • Senior First Aid or equivalent (desirable)

  • Manual Driving Licence

  • MR (or above) Drivers Licence with F Extension (highly desirable for operating vehicles carrying passengers)

Overall your ability to remain calm in high pressure situations, demonstrate restraint and a positive mindset are the key skills we require.  Broadspectrum will provide you with all the professional training required to fully undertake this role should you wish to pursue this exciting opportunity.


You must have Australian Work Rights and have the ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check, Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical including a drug & alcohol test in order to be eligible for these positions.
