The organisation combines its own consumer/market insights within the finance, education and property industries to create and manage successful digital marketing strategies for businesses looking to generate and acquire leads in these specific markets. However, the application of these consumer/market insights is not just limited to the aforementioned industries which adds a further advantage to clients.
Taking lead generation and market insights a step further, our client provides sales training and management as part of their product offering, as to make better use of the digital leads, while incorporating 'live' consumer insights to reassess and redirect marketing budget to more fruitful pastures.
The position itself:
The primary focus of this Business Development Manager is, as you guessed, to prospect new clients by networking, cold calling, advertising or other means of generating interest from potential clients.
You must be able to plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential clients to do business with our client and 'solution sell' this suite of software, digital strategy and functional training and market/data insights.
You must develop a strong rapport with new clients, achieve targets for sales and provide support that will continually improve the relationship.
You are also required to grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to clients. Our Business Development Managers work with mid and senior level management, marketing, and technical staff.
Strategic planning is a key part of this role, as it is the Business Development Manager's responsibility to develop a strong pipeline of new business.
The main duties of the Business Development Manager can be summarised, but not limited to the following:
Responsibilities ● Lead generation and prospect new clients and turn this into increased business. (into CRM) ● Cold call as appropriate to build a pipeline of prospects. ● Generate briefing sessions and client meetings by growing, maintaining and leveraging your network. ● Identify potential client decision makers within the client organisation. ● Research and build relationships with new clients. ● Leverage and grow existing clients within the first 12 months sales cycle. ● Provide high-quality service to ensure client referral and professional networking ● Be confident about group presentations and senior level management / stakeholder meetings ● Set up meetings between client decision makers and company's leadership team. ● Identify and build strategic partnerships between your network and clients. ● Plan approaches and pitches. Work with the marketing team to develop proposals that speak to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives. ● Strategy and feedback around internal systems and processes. ● Nurture client relationships through the decision funnel. ● Display company values at all times ● Prepare a weekly sales activity report for sales manager
