About AFSA
The Australian Financial Security Authority (AFSA) is an executive agency in the Attorney General`s portfolio. We are responsible for the administration and regulation of the personal insolvency system, trustee services and the administration of the Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR). We support the flow of capital into the Australian economy and promote transparency and predictability of outcomes within the financial sector.

About the Role
AFSA seeks an experienced Assistant Director Capability Development to provide strategic capability development advice and services to the Agency. You will lead a small team focussed on delivering value to stakeholders and contribute to the successful delivery of People Strategy 2020. Work closely with the Director of Workforce Capability and Development and as part of a national People & Capability team to ensure AFSA`s workforce is adequately skilled and educated to meet the current and future needs of our clients and the agency`s learning stakeholders.

• Implement strategic capability and learning strategies to increase business performance and employee engagement
• Develop innovative and high quality capability development solutions to support AFSA`s strategic vision
• Manage the provision of the learning and development program, including:
- Aligning learning and development (L&D) with business priorities
- Embedding capability frameworks and pathways within L&D initiatives
- Coaching, assisting and supporting subject matter experts, to enable them to implement effective learning and development solutions for their business areas
• Ensure capability development is integrated into all people management activities (e.g. recruitment, performance management, talent management)
• Engage and consult with stakeholders - primarily leadership and management teams
• Lead an engaged and high performing team

About You
• Tertiary qualification or extensive experience in human resources, organisational development or a related discipline is highly desirable
• Exceptional ability to design strategic capability initiatives aligned to business needs
• Ability to collaborate and engage with internal and external stakeholders

Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for an irregular/intermittent term

This recruitment process is being used to fill a current ongoing position. A merit pool of suitable candidates may be established as a result of this process to assist AFSA fill ongoing and non-ongoing positions that may become available over the next 12 months. Should a non-ongoing position become available, it may be offered for a period of up to 18 months with the possibility of extension (up to a total period of 3 years). Should a non-ongoing position become ongoing or should an ongoing position become available, the merit pool established by this process may be used to determine suitable candidates.
