Assistant Accountant | NFP

A dynamic Assistant Accountant role opportunity with immediate start on a permanent contract. The successful applicant will have at least 3 years accounting experience, experience with Epicor system and exposure to aged care.

The Assistant Accountant will work directly with the Management Accountant, reporting to the CFO, providing financial accounting support services in line with business requirements. You will be key in contributing to the business growth strategy by assisting and improving the overall accounting processes and systems.

  • Support day to day accounting responsibilities in the finance division
  • Prepare and process month end reports
  • Assist in month end close
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliation
  • Funding Reconciliation
  • Compliance with relevant financial standards
  • Compliance with Tax processes
  • Various cost allocation processes
  • Assisting in the budget process and cash flow forecasting
  • Work with AP and AR closely
  • Creating and maintenance of fixed asset register
  • Preparing the Business Activity Statements
  • Reconciling the government funding
  • Supporting the Management Accountant
  • Update financial statements and Preparation of Balance sheet and Profit and Loss statements on a monthly basis
  • Post daily and monthly journal entries
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and assist in finalisation of monthly accounts


  • Immediately Available
  • Experience in Aged Care essential
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications are essential with CA/CPA studies complete or underway
  • At least 3 years’ experience in accounting
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment in a collaborative manner
  • Deadline oriented
  • Solid initiative and problem solving skills
  • Experience dealing with Tax; FBT
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Knowledge of Epicor 10
