Assistant Accountant - 6 month...
A well established law firm is looking for an Assistant Accountant to support the Financial Controller in this growing organisation.
Our client, is located conveniently in the inner south eastern suburbs of Melbourne with free parking provided on premise. The firm has experienced significant growth over the last year which has resulted in the accounts function of the business requiring additional support. A professional working environment, where work life balance is encouraged.
Key responsibilities include:
*Ensuring invoices are receipted, approved and processed in a timely manner
*Creditor statement reconciliations carried out on a monthly basis
*Processing employee expense reimbursements
*Reconciling company credit cards
*Processing of all supplier and sub-contractor payments
*Calculating monthly outstanding PO accrual
*Ensuring invoices are dispatched to clients in a timely manner
*Ensuring payments are received from clients within set payment terms
*Dispatching statement`s to clients on a monthly basis
*Ensuring credit checks are carried out on all clients before accounts are set up
*Reconciling petty cash on a monthly basis
*Ensuring all payroll documents are received from staff and updated accordingly
*Preparation and processing of payroll on a monthly basis
*Assist in preparation of payroll tax
*Ensure superannuation is processed and lodged within statutory deadlines
*Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
*Assisting the Financial Controller with managing cash flow requirements
*Assisting the Finance team with ad hoc reporting tasks as they fall due
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skill set:
*Bachelors degree in accounting
*Ideally commenced there professional qualification
*Ability to effectively work under pressure and meet deadlines as they fall due
*Excellent communication skills, and
*Advanced excel skills
*Great work environment
