Immediate Start - Animal Management Officer job - Local Council in the Western Suburbs

Based in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne, this rapidly growing Council prides themselves on their community focus and proactive approach to providing services to the local area. They pride themselves on their inclusiveness and bringing the community together with a range of services and activities available to all residing in the local area.
They are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Animal Management Officer to join the Local Laws team on a temporary basis. This is an ongoing role which could lead to a long-term opportunity.

Your new role
As an Animal Management Officer in the Local Laws team, you will be assisting with animal management on a day-to day basis as well as;

  • Stock control and inventory

  • Pick up and drop off of animals

  • Park patrols

  • Animal attack investigations and inspections

  • Enforcing animal policy and compliance

  • Liaising with council members and local residents

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role you will be passionate about animal welfare and helping the local community and eagerness to learn and develop your career, as well as the following;

  • Certificate IV in Animal Control and Regulation

  • Preferably at least 3 years experience in an Animal Management Officer role

  • Strong understanding of Victorian local council, laws, policies and procedures

  • Personable and confident with positive resolution skills

  • Available to start immediately in your new role
