Engaging Animal Management Officer Job at a high profile Council in the Eastern Suburbs.

Situated in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, this dynamic Council is home to various amenities including bustling cafes and restaurants, state of the art brand new offices, beautiful parklands and CBD views. A temporary position will shortly be available for a suitably experienced and qualified Animal Management Officer to assist the team in this temporary role for a period of 3 months.

Your new role

As an Animal Management Officer in the Local Laws team, you will be assisting with animal management on a day-to day basis as well as;

  • Stock control and inventory

  • Pick up and drop off of animals

  • Park patrols

  • Animal attack investigations and inspections

  • Enforcing animal policy and compliance

  • Liaising with council members and local residents

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this role you will be passionate about animal welfare and helping the local community and have an eagerness to learn and develop your career, as well as the following;

  • Certificate IV in Animal Control and Regulation

  • Preferably at least 3 years experience in an Animal Management Officer role

  • Strong understanding of Victorian local council, laws, policies and procedures

  • Personable and confident with positive resolution skills
