Contract available to June 2018 for experienced Compliance Officer with Environment / Agriculture background

This state government department with regional offices in Moresby focuses on the protection of wildlife and plant species in the local region.
Your new role
Based in the Moresby office in Queensland, you will work within the Panama Tropical Race 4 (TR4) Program which seeks to contain and control the disease, and to minimize the impacts of the outbreak on affected businesses, communities and the Australian Banana industry. Your primary area of responsibility will be around document development and ensuring compliance around checkpoints, field patrols and decontamination procedures.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a strong communicator with demonstrated experience interpreting and applying policies and legislation. A background in environmental science, policy and strategy or similar experience is considered an asset. Candidates with real-life experience working on Biosecurity projects, researching or managing plant-born disease or similar agricultural issues will be highly regarded.
What you'll get in return
This contract will start at the end of October 2017 and run through 30 June 2018. You will be compensated with a competitive hourly rate and will be part of a dynamic and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and gain exposure to exciting projects relating to Biosecurity in Queensland. Please note that accommodation in Moresby is not provided.
